It is clear that COVID-19 is affecting your business, and we get it! You are not able to operate as normal or you may not be able to operate at all. With a shelter-in-place, your usual customers cannot come inside your shop to buy from you. If you have been able to keep your store open, or if you are considering reopening at a smaller capacity, we have some tips to help you maintain business and satisfy your customers.
- Tell your customers that you are in fact open! Your usual customers may simply think you are closed during this time. Post some instructions on all your social media channels as to how your customers can buy from you, whether it’s calling in an order or ordering online through your website. You can also share this information in an email if that’s how you usually communicate with your customers.
- Share your knowledge of CBD on your social media accounts as well. Remind your customers of the benefits of using CBD when experiencing stress or anxiety (which is what we are all experiencing right now). Create a video from your smartphone on how to use the topicals that you sell, or share a recipe for mixing CBD oil with food (like this one). Feel free to get creative!
- Promote gift certificates if you cannot fulfill their purchases at the moment. This benefits you twofold; you will still get some cash flow now, and it will guarantee some business later once it is safer to shop in person. You can remind your customers to buy these as gifts for their friends and family too, which will help spread awareness of your shop and products.
- Consider stocking up on lower doses of CBD. This is a great time for people who have never tried CBD to do so in the comfort of their own home, but they might be turned away from products with a high CBD content. Update your inventory with products you know that any adult can easily try, like bath bombs or gummies. As mentioned above, offer some guidance for first-time users too on your social channels.
